The Southern Rhode Island Conservation District is seeking two new directors for its five-person board of directors. The District works to promote sustainable use of natural resources by helping farmers, forest owners, and other landowners implement voluntary environmental conservation practices on their land and giving them access to funding for support.
The Board of Directors meets monthly to set natural resource conservation goals for Washington and Kent Counties, to oversee the activities of the District Manager and staff, to connect the District to complementary organizations and people in support of the District goals, and to insure the District’s successful functioning. The term of a director is three years.
